[First digital map of Europe's changing landscapes]
The first digital map of the multiple changes that have occurred in Europe's landscapes since 1990 was unveiled on November 17th, enabling policy-makers to draw lessons from how their decisions in areas such as agriculture and transport are impacting on the region's finite land resources and the wider environment.

See: http://org.eea.eu.int/documents/newsreleases/CLC2000-en for more information.

[Project Web Site - Entries]
The first stage of the web site is scheduled to be completed by the end of January 2003. After this all member schools will be requested to begin work by entering further details of their teaching programmes and course units, as well as beginning to make the first glossary entries of terms relating the field of interests of the working group or groups for which they have registered.

[Data Entry]
As the data to be entered will relate to the fields covered by the subject area working groups, it is also essential that all staff of network member schools who wish to contribute to the project, to register for those working groups which correspond to their particular interests - wheter these relate to their teaching responsibilities or their research interests.

[Funding Bid 2003/04]
By the deadline of 1st March 2003 a new bid will have to be submitted to Brussels for funding for the second year of the project (starting in October 2003).
By then it will be necessary to have received any updated information about your school which needs to be included in the new bid.

[Update Information]
All current Network Member Schools will be contacted during January and asked to supply any updated information which is relevant. If nothing is received, it will be assumed that the information has not changed since last year, and that your schools wishes to remain part of the network during the second year.
