This working
group is concerned with the historic development of the man-made
landscape and its conservation and interpretation, across Europe.
A particular focus is on the identification, characterisation and
understanding of different cultural landscape types, with regard
to their visual, ecological, cultural and land use values, as well
as the ways in which these aspects are interlinked and mutually
interdependent. The future sustainable development of Europe's cultural
landscapes are also a key concern, as are the ways in which traditional
cultural landscapes can act as models for future sustainable land
use.
