Network Member Schools
Network Member Schools
One of the important principles behind the LE:NOTRE Project has been to make it open to participation by any department where landscape architecture teaching and/or research is undertaken, at any higher education institution within an 'eligible country' in the sense of the SOCRATES - ERASMUS Programme.
This 'inclusive' philosophy has led to a steady growth in the number of member institutions from 73 in the first year of the project to 101 which were part of the successful LE:NOTRE TWO Project proposal. In addition to the 'core' members of the Network, special attention has always been given to enabling landscape architecture schools from other, non-eligible, European countries to take part on the project. From the start, for example, there have been members from Ukraine, Croatia and Turkey. Turkey has since become an 'eligible' country for the LE:NOTRE Project, but the number of schools from non-eligible countries has remained more or less stable as the number of members from non-eligible countries has continued to rise. One important reason for this rise has been the establishment of ‘LE:NOTRE°Mundus’, a sub-project, which aims to engage key landscape architecture schools from outside Europe in the Project. In this context it has already been possible to recruit new members from China and Japan, from the USA and Australia, as well as from the Middle East. Although no university from non-eligible countries can currently receive funding from the LE:NOTRE Project grant, all are able to take part in meetings if they can find their own funding, and of course all are able to access and use of the project website.
